Carde (also Carde-Meridea) GEOGRAPHY — A region. Properly called Carde-Meridea (or Carthe-Merithea in the old tongue), Carde is the southern portion of → Mor-Thandak. Densely populated, it is surrounded to the northeast by → Ausrost and to the south by the → Catcher’s Sea, specifically the → Gleime’n Coast. To the west is the → Gray Lake and to the northwest the → Western Mountains, (in Carde, the Western Mountains are referred to as the → Northern Mountains since they lie to the north of portions of the region), and the western tip of the → Lost Lake, or the → Barren. The largest village in Carde is the sea village of → Gal-Galleen on the Gleime’n Coast. Gal-Galleen is a heavily used seaport as it is the only major port in Carde. Generally speaking, Carde is a much poorer region than its neighbor, Ausrost.
