Corkscrew, the

Corkscrew, the ECONOMY — A seaport. Also known as → the Screw, the Corkscrew is a floating borough which is part of the city proper of → Torbinath that features a series of bridges and floating docks to create a large circuitous spiral where ships, many semi-permanent, dock for trade, thus creating a “corkscrew” effect. Bridges of various size and permanence connect the barges and docks while allowing smaller vessels to navigate beneath them. Torbinath is considered the only viable route into the → Great North to commerce with the → Quid*. (The only other ways to reach the Great North from the southern regions is via the → Dial and the → Barren, both of which are considered by most to be too dangerous for crossing.). As Torbinath’s port, the Screw is the primary outlet for trade and fuels the economy of Torbinath. As the port for one of the wealthiest cities in → Ausrost, ships leaving the Screw are highly susceptible to raids by pirates and → freebooters

* Though the Quid are not known for trade, what little trade they do is generally done with sailing vessels in the → Hundries, the goods then brought south to the Screw.

Eric Love
I am a story teller. The goal of a story is to move people in some way. Whether with video, words or images and graphics, my end goal is always to tell a good story. When your story is told successfully, it expresses your strengths and the unique way in which you fill a need or want. With every service I offer, I seek to answer this question: what is the best way to tell this story? Showing always beats telling.
