frulay hymn
frulay hymn RELIGION AND BELIEF — A religious song. Frulay hymns are one of two types of songs performed by the → Edöné. Frulay hymns are very specific to the singer, often being birthed from that specific element with which the → Edön most identifies—these elements are sometimes called an Edön’s “token” element. Most Edön identify with one or more natural elements on a deeper, more personal level than the rest. The result is a familiarity with that element which allows the Edön a swifter connection with it as needed. Frulay hymns often highlight such token connections. It is common for an Edön to develop an anthem over the course of their life which celebrates this token connection. However, frulay hymns are not limited to such connections; they may also come from specific connections to an event, location, person, element, or other aspect of the natural world and the tapestry that makes up all things. Most songs performed by the Edön are not strictly frulay hymns, but rather are a combination of both bally and frulay hymns. Song is often employed by Edöné, but not always. In the cases where an Edön does not practice singing, the hymns are spoken rather than sung.
