gilly kisses FLORA — Petals of a plant. When budding, → gilly weed produces delicate purple flowers which release their petals. The petals are so fine, they often appear semi-translucent and float in the air. These are called gilly kisses. Children often blow the petals free and make wishes as they take flight. They are considered lucky.
