Gondelesha
Gondelesha MYTHOLOGY — A demigod. Gondelesha was a mythical figure said to have bound any large body of water, especially oceans, to land. Gondelesha was one of four sons born to a demigoddess known as → Rubel. This created the push and pull between the two “bodies” that became tides, a battle so fierce at the beginning that other celestial bodies, in particular the moon, became enthralled, picking a side and seeking to give aid. The details of the myth changed from season to season and were used to explain the shifting weather from summer to fall to winter to spring, with spring and fall being the seasons where Land and Sea lived in relative harmony.
