grubber’s hunt CULTURE — A children’s game. A grubber’s hunt is a game, most often played in a large area indoors and/or outdoors, in which players must find or collect a number of various objects. Typically a game played with children, it is modeled after the swashbuckling concept of brigands and pirates who have hidden treasure. Grubber’s hunts often use devices such as clues, maps, and cipher codes to enhance the fun.
