joining RELIGION AND BELIEF — A spiritual act. Joining is when two or more people connect to each other using a spiritual tether. This is most often accomplished by the use of a → keystone and a → joiner. The depth of the joining is determined by 

1. the proficiency in magic of the parties, 

2. the fayelee or magical potency of the participants, and 

3. outside forces that make spiritual acts more or less effective (→ tweeny times, → Hidain, special → moons, etc.)
