Torbinath

Torbinath GEOGRAPHY — A city. Torbinath is a coastal city on the northeasternmost corner of → Ausrost. It is on the → Sea of Glass and offers the largest entry port into the southern regions from the → Great North. Its most well-known feature is the → Corkscrew, a floating city as part of the city proper that features a series of bridges and floating docks that create a large, circuitous spiral where ships, many semi-permanent, dock for trade, thus creating a “corkscrew” effect—bridges of various size and permanence connect the barges and docks while allowing smaller vessels to navigate beneath them. Governed by an elected official known as the → City Regent, Torbinath boasts one of the few large cities in Ausrost that has one central governing figure who is, in broad terms, elected by the people. Torbinath is considered the only viable route into the Great North and commerce with the → Quid as the only other way to reach the Great North from the southern regions is via the → Dial (a desert that is believed to be uncrossable, though there are documented cases of individuals successfully making the crossing, though rarely with health and sanity intact), and the → Barrens (a series of two large, salt water lakes that are considered “barren” of life sustaining food and too near the → Skree homeland to be considered safe).

Eric Love
I am a story teller. The goal of a story is to move people in some way. Whether with video, words or images and graphics, my end goal is always to tell a good story. When your story is told successfully, it expresses your strengths and the unique way in which you fill a need or want. With every service I offer, I seek to answer this question: what is the best way to tell this story? Showing always beats telling.
