The sap creates a stinging sensation due to its antiseptic qualities. Wasp lettuce can also be eaten. It is typically boiled or stir-fried in animal fat. The leaves can also be used as wraps for → doppits. Wasp lettuce leaves, when eaten, are said to aid in digestion and for soothing mild stomach irritations.
