ways place

ways place GEOGRAPHY, ECONOMY — A settlement where multiple roads meet. A ways place is any place where multiple roads, particularly through roads, meet. It is called a ways place because it is easy to choose any through road in order to reach a specific destination. Such hubs often grow into villages or cities known for trade and news. In more rural areas, ways places will often have little more than directional signs or even a supply cache where travelers are expected to take and leave supplies as needed. To a lesser degree, a ways place may also include a shrine or other hallowed space for local deities or religious factions.
