ehwain branding (also → staining) RELIGION AND BELIEF — A mark of magic. Ehwain branding is when a person’s essence has been marked by magic, whether intentional or accidental. This “mark” often makes them susceptible to other forms of magic, particularly those in a similar vein to that which created the stain (dark stains attract dark magic, for example). In addition, it makes some people more sensitive to magic, both in the vein of their staining and magic that is most at odds with their staining, giving them a type of insight into opposing or contrasting forces on the magical spectrum.
