embers pot RELIGION AND BELIEF — A religious object. An embers pot is a type of → Hidain lamp used during the festival of → Feilebroc. Traditionally, it is a clay pot with four squat legs that sits either on the floor or a table and is kept burning for the week(s) leading up to festival day. Often, besides logs or coal, herbs and spices are added for the fragrance and belief that some plants (such as sage, → winter’s bane, or → dragonfern) purify the spirit world.
